Apply for exhibition

Dear Photographers and Friends of FOTOGALERIE Friedrichshain,

we are constantly looking for photographers who would like to present their engaged series and exhibition concepts in our historical gallery. Our main focus is people and society, but we are open to all kinds of applications.

As a non-commercial gallery without regular public funding, we can unfortunately not pay for the production of prints. On the other hand, we always support applications for fundings and can offer a wide range of frames for free to present your images in a professional way. Moreover, we take care of PR and social media.

About FOTOGALERIE

The Fotogalerie Friedrichshain was the first municipal photography gallery in Berlin. Established in 1985, it was the first and only gallery in East-Germany (GDR) that was solely dedicated to the medium of photography. The gallery is still situated at its original location at Helsingforser Platz, not far from the S-Bahn station Warschauer Straße and is run by the `Kulturring Berlin e.V.´ who took over its administration from the district authorities in 2002. In the first place we are looking for committed documentary series and long term projects but also artistic work that shows outstanding asthetic.
The Fotogalerie Friedrichshain presents on average eight exhibitions per year. Around 5000-10000 people visit the exhibitions and supporting events yearly. The Fotogalerie also works with numerous educational and cultural organisations and has taken part in the European Month of Photography Berlin since its begining in 2006.
